The first goals came early in the first period, as has been the norm.  Mark Stone rushed toward the goal, then drops the puck for Max Pacioretty to slap it to the back of the net, with only 1:11 off the opening clock.  Martin Jones remained in the net for the Sharks.  Then with less than a minute in the period, Golden Knights Shea Theodore walked the puck past two defensemen to put Las Vegas up by 2-0 going to the intermission.

At the beginning of the second, Aaron Dell took the net for the Sharks, but it wouldn’t help much as the Sharks offense had some problems getting the puck to the net.  Macioretty scored his second goal at 7:27 when his wrister went into the net on a power play. His goal was assisted by Stone and Theodore.

In the third period, the Golden Knights pulled ahead even farther, when Alex Tuch scored their fourth goal of the night. Then a cross ice pass to Jonathan Marchessault, who sent it from the blue line to the opposite side of the net.
