SAN JOSE, Calif. – Tonight’s game was a demonstration by Martin Jones in the Sharks net, as he held off everything Las Vegas could throw at him, earning the 4-0 shutout in game four of round 2 in the Western Conference Finals. The teams are tied at 2-2 games for the series.
The first goal of the night was scored with just under five minutes remaining in the first period, Marcus Sorensen skated with the puck in front of the crease, hesitated slightly to cause the defense to commit then snapped the puck to the back of the net for the Sharks goal. Then Joonas Donskoi, with only five seconds remaining on the clock, skated up the ice, and let a shot go from just inside the blue line, which happened to be screened by two Golden Knights defenders and beat Marc-Andre Fleury into the net, unassisted. Just like that the Sharks were up 2-0 at the first intermission.

In the second period, the Sharks increased their lead, when Mikkel Boedker brought the puck around the back of the net and tried to get it past Fluery, who stopped it, but couldn’t hold on. The puck went right back to Tomas Hertl’s puck just inside the crease who redirected it to the net.
At 11:43 of the third period, while on a power play, Logan Couture shot the puck towards the net and Joe Pavelski redirected it past Fleury for the Sharks fourth goal of the night.
