In Montreal Friday, the San Jose Sharks scored four first period goals in a 4-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens.
The four-goal outburst chased Carey Price form the nets in a rare hook early in the second period.
Two power play goals from David Schlemko and Patrick Marleau while Timo Meier and Melker Karlsson also scored in the opening frame.
“He’s (Price) one of the best goalies in the world, if not the best, so it’s always good to get to him early,” Schlemko said. “If he starts getting hot, he’s pretty tough to beat.”
Price was left hanging by his defense throughout the first period and the hook may have been a signal to the team rather than Price.

“Firstly, I didn’t like the way the team was playing in front of him, and secondly, that allows us to come back with him [Saturday],” Habs head coach Michele Therrien said.
Brian Flynn and Jeff Petry scored in the third period after the outcome was already decided.
“We just dug too big a hole to dig ourselves out of,” Max Pacioretty said.
Martin Jones got the win off 26 saves,
Al Montoya relieved Price early in the second period and faced only five shots and stopped all of them.
For San Jose’s it was his first NHL goal and it came on his first shot in the NHL.
