SAN JOSE – The Sharks hosted the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night in a preseason tune up for the upcoming regular season.
Anaheim’s Cutter Gauthier was the lone scorer on penalties in a 3-2 win for the Ducks; Gauthier had two goals on the night.
San Jose forced the extra session when Henry Thrun scored at 16:.6 to tie the game, 2-2.
San Jose’s Klim Kostin hit off the power play in the middle frame to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead.
Anaheim replied with a pair of strikes. Frank Vatrano tied the game 1-1 in the second.
Gauthier gave the Ducks a 2-1 lead in the third.
