Sharks edge Sens in shootout, 4-3

In Ottawa Wednesday, Joe Pavelski, Brent Burns and Chris Tierney scored in regulation for the San Jose Sharks in a 4-3 shootout win over the Senators.

Kevin Labanc was the lone goal scorer in the skills competition to give the Sharks the win.

“It was nice to go last, I guess, kind of feel out the goalie and see what he gave,” Labanc said.

Martin Jones made 28 saves to help the Sharks win their second game in back-to-back nights.

The Sens got goals from Bobby Ryan, Kyle Turris and Dion Phaneuf in regulation.

“We’re not happy with the result, but we’re happy with the performance,” Ottawa’s Erik Karlsson said.
