In Ottawa, the Senators got a big game fromMarcus Hogberg who made 40 saves to help Ottawa end am 0-5-4 skid with a 5-2 win over the visiting Calgary Flames on Saturday.
“Definitely happy we got those two points. It was all because of [Hogberg],” the Senators’ Brady Tkachuk said. “He stood in there and had a phenomenal performance. Wish we could’ve lessened the load in the first period, but he just showed everybody how great of a goalie he is.”
Mark Jankowski and Noah Hanifin scored for the Flames.
“When it’s not going in for you, you’ve got to try and manufacture a goal,” Flames coach Geoff Ward said. “I thought that we could’ve done a better job with our traffic tonight. I thought that we could’ve done a better job at trying to get more pucks to the front of the net.”
Connor Brown and Vladislav Namestnikov had two points each for the Sens with a goal.
“A lot of shots in the beginning,” Hogberg said. “I had a good feeling. Just have to keep it rolling now.”
Chris Tierney, Colin White and Brady Tkachuk also scored for the Sens.
