In Ottawa, Dominick Kubalik scored in the first period to give the Detroit Red Wings a 1-0 lead on Tuesday night over the Senators. 
That was the highlight of the night for Detroit, as the Senators reeled off four goals in the first and one in the second and third periods for a 6-12 win.
Tim Stutzle tied the game, 1-1, 18 seconds later.
The Senators’ Auston Watson scored a quick double for a 3-1 lead, his first was a shorthanded marker.
Alex DeBrincat then scored to close out the scoring in the first for a 4-1 advantage headed to the middle frame.
Mads Sogaard made 16 saves in the Ottawa win.
The Senators improved to 30-26-4 off back-to-back wins over Detroit.
Claude Giroux scored ahead of the midway point of the second period for a 5- lead to Ottawa.
Detroit dropped to 28-24-8.

Ville Husso made 21 saves in the Detroit loss.
