Senators roll past Oilers, 6-1

In Edmonton Saturday, the Ottawa Senators used two goals each from Kyle Turris and Mike Hoffman  to silence the Oilers, 6-1.

“It was great to finish off a trip like that. It’s huge,” Turris said. “It’s great for our confidence to start the year on a big note on a Western road trip. We’ve got to carry that momentum home, now.”

Mike Condon made 35 saves to get the win for the Sens.

“We knew they had been waiting for us here,” Hoffman said. “Sometimes, when you get too many days off in a row, they can have a slow start. We wanted to get on them early. I think that’s what we did and that seemed to work its way through the whole game.”

Adam Larssonhad the only strike for the Oilers who dropped to 1-3-0 on the season.

“They are a good team, they play solid. We’ve got to start getting some goals,” Oilers captain Connor McDavid said. “I don’t know what needs to be said. We just have to be better. The time for talk is over. We just have to get results.”
