Senators double up Tampa, 4-2 Joseph s hits for double in win - Update to follow

In Tampa, the visiting Ottawa Senators took a 2-0 lead into the middle frame on Monday, and the held off the Lightning for a 4-2 win.

Mathieu Joseph  hit for a double in the win, he scored his first at 13:35 of the opening stanza to make it 2-0  to Ottawa.

He collected his double at 15:49 of the middle frame to make it 3-0.

Anton Forsberg made 24 saves in the win.

The Senators moved to 23-27-2, ending a two-game slide.

Tim Stutzle scored midway through the first period to give the Senators a 1-0 lead.

The Lightning dropped to 30-22-5, and did nothing to wipe away the stick of a 9-2 loss to the Florida Panthers on Saturday.

Tampa got on the board when Mitchell Chaffee  scored at 16″55 of the middle frame to trim the deficit to 4-3-1.

In the third period, Vladimir Tarasenko hit off an odd man rush to restore the three-goal lead with four minutes gone in the period.

Brayden Point  added a marker just 35 seconds later for the 4-2 final count on the scoreboard.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 23 saves in the loss.
