PAPILLION, NEBRASKA – Green Bay emerged Friday with a victory in the third overtime victory to stave off elimination and play again. The Gamblers made great use of their first period on Saturday showing the Force that the momentum has begun to swing. Green Bay scored four times in the first period to jump out to a 4-3 lead going into the first intermission.
Fargo would hold the Gamblers in check from there forth not allowing another Green Bay goal until the waning moments of the game on an empty netter.
Reed Seckel and David Gerths led the high flying Gamblers to a fifth and final game scoring twice each, Robert Francis scored the fifth goal for Green Bay. Despite the constant pressure, neither goalie gave into their opponent after a wild opening period as Fargo’s Ryan Massa would stop 23 shots, and Green Bay’s Steve Summerhays would stop 18.
The Green Bay win evens the series at two games apiece with the decisive final game to be played Wednesday May 12, 2010 in Green Bay.
