SCOTLAND, UK – Murrayfield Racers booked their place in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup with a comprehensive 12-1 home victory over Kilmarnock Thunder.
Joel Gautschi (3), Garry Simpson (2), Callum Boyd (2) and Tom Ireland (2) were amongst the scorers.
The Racers followed up with a 7-2 win at home to Dundee Comets in the Scottish National League (SNL) – Callum Boyd (3) topped the scoring as the Edinburgh-based side moved back up to second in the standings.
Table-topping Solway Sharks maintained their unbeaten record in the SNL as they recorded two emphatic victories over the weekend.
Scott Henderson led the way on Saturday with four goals as the Sharks ran out comfortable 10-1 winners on home ice against Kirkcaldy Kestrels.
Henderson was amongst the scorers the following evening as Solway secured a 6-0 success at Dundee Tigers – Marcus Murdoch, Liam Stenton, Gordon Horne, Kieran Hair and Ewan Anderson got the other goals.
