SCOTLAND, UK – Dundee Comets’ hopes of retaining the Scottish Cup were ended as they failed to complete an unlikely comeback against Paisley Pirates in the second leg of their semi-final tie.

The Pirates held a 7-2 lead after the first leg and booked their place in the final against Murrayfield Racers after restricting the Comets to a 4-3 win in the reverse fixture.

Murrayfield Racers secured the runners-up spot in the Scottish National League (SNL) with a narrow 4-3 home victory over North Ayrshire Wild.

Alex Christian (2), Callum Boyd and Dean Walker got the Racers’ goals, while Gary Parker (2) and Martin Cardno were on target for Wild.

Dundee Tigers claimed third place in the SNL courtesy of a 4-2 victory at North Ayrshire – Robbie Barnett (2), Stuart Barnett and Grant Reekie got the goals.

The line-up for the SNL play-offs is now confirmed, with eight teams set to battle for a place in the semi-finals.

League champions Solway Sharks face North Ayrshire, while Murrayfield will go head-to-head with Aberdeen Lynx.

Dundee Tigers take on Kirkcaldy Kestrels, with Dundee Comets meeting Paisley in the fourth quarter-final.

Dates for each of the quarter-final matches will be confirmed by the clubs on their social media channels.

The winners of the four ties will progress to Final Four Weekend at Dundee Ice Arena over the weekend of 4/5th April.
