In St Louis Friday night, the Nashville Predators rode a 25-save save effort from Juuse Saros in a 44-0 win over the Blues.
“Of course it was really nice and guys played really good in front of me, and I think we just played a really smart game,” Saros said . “I think it really gives us hope in the future
and kind of shows just what kind of team we are, so it’s a big thing.”
Yannick Weber, Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson scored in the middle frame to break open a tight game to that point.
“We really hit the skids when it went 2-0,” St. Louis coach Ken Hitchcock said. “Lost our energy and lost our focus. I don’t know. Disappointing.”
Colin Wilson nailed the door shut with a goal in the third period.
Jake Allen made 11 saves and was one more goalie this season to get the early hook as he did not return for the third period.  Carter Hutton came into the game to start the third.

Some posited that the Blues were looking ahead to Monday’s Winter Classic against the Chicago Blackhawks as a reason for the dismal effort Friday.
“Maybe, but myself no, and other guys no because it is a couple days away. If it was right away, but with two days in between, you have a lot of time before and you want to have a good game because you have those two days to think about it,” St Louis’ Paul Stastny said. “You’re only as good as your last game. We were just flat. You saw it, we saw it.”
