Going 0-in-2 with a man advantage in the first period Quebec scored the only goal of the initial period with 45.4 seconds remaining on their third power play chance.

As Alex D’Orio the Saint John goaltender made the saves on first 12 shots, Pascal Laberge beat the Pittsburgh prospect over his left shoulder, on Quebec 13th shot on goal. For the former Victoriaville Tigres winger, it was his 11th of the season, his fifth with his new team, since his acquisition.

Trailing by two after two periods of play, Quebec came out on stronger note dominating 10-4 in shots on goal but Sea Dogs netminder D’Orio kept the door closed in first half of the third periods.
