Sabres topple Oilers, 2-1, on penalties Bryson tied it late for Sabres, Tuch gets winner on skills - Update to follow

In Buffalo, the Sabres’ Jacob Bryson scored with less than three minutes left in the third period  on Saturday to get Buffalo even with the visiting Edmonton Oilers, 2-2, and force extra time.

Alex Tuch was credited with the deciding marker on penalties for a 3-2 win to the Sabres.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 30 saves in the win.

The Sabres moved to 30-30-5, snapping a three-game skid.

The Oilers had control of the game coming out of the opening stanza.

Edmonton’s Ryan McLeod opened the scoring with 29 seconds gone in the first period for a 1-0 lead to the Oilers. He scored off a shot down low that glanced in off the right post.

Warren Foegele  hit a shorthanded marker at 14:19 of the first to give the Oilers a 2-0 lead.

The Oilers dropped to  38-21-3 off their second straight loss.

Buffalo replied with a strike on the same power play goal by Tage Thompson at 15:35  to trim the deficit to 2-1. Stuart Skinner made 25 saves in the loss.
