Combined with wins by Utica and Grand Rapids, the Rampage clinched the Western Conference’s No. 3 seed in the upcoming Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Stars struck quickly, getting an unassisted goal from Justin Dowling just 16 seconds into the contest. San Antonio answered with a goal from Vincent Trocheck, his seventh of the season and first since being reassigned to the Rampage on April 12, to even the score at one near the midway point of the frame.

The Stars would take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission off a Brendan Ranford tally at the 14:18 mark of the period. Texas extended their lead to two goals late in the second stanza, as Matej Stransky collected a pass from Scott Glennie on a 2-on-1 break and wristed the puck past Dan Ellis to make it 3-1.

Wade Megan punched in a rebound off a Logan Shaw shot at the 5:34 mark of the final period to bring the Silver & Black within one again, but were unable to find the equalizer despite putting 23 shots on goal in the third period.

San Antonio was 0-for-3 on the power play and for the first time this season and second time in franchise history, finished with zero penalty minutes.
