Nicolas Roy signed a five-year, $15 million contract with the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday. It has an average annual value of $3 million.
The 25-year-old center, who was a restricted free agent, had NHL career highs in goals (15), assists (24) and points (39) in 78 games last season.
Selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fourth round (No. 96) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Roy has 64 points (26 goals, 38 assists) in 163 regular-season games for the Hurricanes and Golden Knights, and 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in 39 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
