QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Winner 5-2 Wednesday night, Rouyn-Noranda won again Friday night for a second game in three days this time by the score of 8-2. Antoine Waked (2 goals 1 assist), Alexandre Fortin (1 goal 2 assists) and Raphael Harvey-Pinard (1 goal 2 assists) led the Huskies in the one sided victory.
Quebec scored the only goal in the opening period. Not on the scoring sheet for last 18 games Quebec left winger Yanick Turcotte scores his fourth of the season beating Rouyn-Noranda goaltender Samuel Harvey between his pads at 2:02. 
Like Wednesday night the Huskies came back in second period scoring four times to lead 4-1 after forty minutes of play. Antoine Waked with his first of two goals in that periods brought both teams back to square one as he redirected a pass from Bruno Carl Denis with 13:20 to go in second period.
Rouyn-Noranda took the lead for the first time in the game as Peter Abbandonato left no chance to Quebec netminder as his wrist shot beat Kiselev at 9:12 for his 12th of the regular season.
Gabriel Fontaine gave the Huskies a 3-1 lead with his 10 of the season at 11:58. Playing with a man up for the first time in the game Antoine Waked scored his second of the game beating Kiselev top corner at 17:13.
Five penalties, four inside first eight minutes in third periods opened the door to Rouyn-Noranda to seal Quebec fate as they already leads 4-1 after two periods of play. Alexandre Fortin and Raphael Harvey-Pinard adds two more goals to Huskies lead. Fortin at only 008 seconds and Harvey-Pinard on power play at 4:13 gave to home team a comfortable 6-1 lead.
Chris McQuaid also on power play beat Kiselev over his left shoulder at 15:44 scoring their third goals in the game in six power play opportunities with a man up. Jeremy Diotte complete the scoring for Rouyn-Noranda scoring his first of the season beating Quebec goalie on his left side at 16:44.
Quebec scored their second goal in the game with only 1:14 remaining. Derek Gentile took a rebound shot from Louis-Philip Cote beating Samuel Harvey.
Friday January 6 at 12:00pm was the QMJHL trading deadline for all teams. Like every year lots of last minute trades are announced, this year wasn’t the exception around 20 trades has been official. In Quebec the Quebec Remparts General Manager and head coach Philippe Boucher confirmed three trades plus a free agent signee.
In first move, in the matinee, Mr. Boucher confirmed the acquisition of Val-d’Or goaltender Derek Baribeau. In return the Roreurs received center Sean O’Brien and a second round pick (previously belonging to Drummondville Voltigeurs) in 2017.
Born in Quebec the 18 years old goaltender Baribeau was a first round selection (fifth overall) in 2015, playing his second year in the league. Playing in 23 games he cumulated a records of 7 wins 13 loses with a 4:26 goal against average and saving percentage of .873.
In second trade Quebec G.M. and head coach Philippe Boucher sent young 16 years old goaltender Lucas Fitzpatrick to the Shawinigan Cataractes in return of a third round pick (previously acquired from Gatineau Olympiques in 2017 QMJHL entry draft.
Fitzpatrick had been a second round selection in 2016, and plays in Midget AAA with Cold Harbour.
In third move Mr. Boucher sent 19 year old defenseman Ross McDougall to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in return of a second and third round selections in 2017.
Being a 13 round selections (231st selection overall) in 2014 McDougall was in his second year with Quebec also played 12 games in 2014-15.
At the end of afternoon Quebec General Manager and head coach Philippe Boucher confirmed an agreement with a free agent Shawn Billy. The 5’11” 185 pound center played two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Erie Otters. With the OHL team Billy showed a record of 7 goals 14 assists 21 points in 79 games.
As far as goaltender Alex Bishop acquired in the Callum Booth traded couple weeks ago and veteran 20 years old Jonathan Bourcier both will be offered on waiver. If neither is claimed they will end the year in lower league.
Quebec will continue his road trip with next two games in Val-d’or against the Foreurs on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
