QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Losing by the score of 3-0 in Videotron Center a week ago Rouyn-Noranda did it again for second tine inside a week winning 4-0 this time in Iamgold Arena in front of 1691 fans. Jakub Lauko led the offense with two goals one assist. Goaltender Zachary Emond registered his second shutout making 35 saves.
Rouyn-Noranda struck first with the help of their first power play in the game. Huskies center Vincent Marleau left no chance to Quebec goaltender Anthony Morrone only has to wrist the puck in, on perfect pass, from Patrik Hrehorcak with 10:59 to play in the opening period.
Quebec had a slight edge in second portion of the period, but Huskies goaltender Zachary Emond kept his door closed. Rouyn-Noranda got the edge in shots on goal 14-11 over Quebec Remparts.
Rouyn-Noranda came out strong dominating the middle frame not only in shots on goal department (13-8) in second periods (27-19) after forty minutes of play but also added two more goals on their lead.
On the Huskies second goal, Patient forward Alex Beaucage found Jakub Lauko scoring his 7th of the year with 12:55 to play in the second periods. A turnover by Quebec right winger Pierrick Dube led to Home team third goal of the game. Patrik Abbadonato wrist shot beat Quebec netminder on his stick side with 3:32 remaining in middle frame.
Already going 0-in1 on power play on the game Quebec got their second chances in the third periods. But like in first occasion Rouyn-Noranda netminder made the save when he had to keeping the opponent at bay.
Trailing by three with 6:07 remaining in the period, Quebec head coach decided to pull his starting netminder trying to get team first goal. Unfortunately for visiting head coach it turned against him and his team since Lauko, the Boston Bruins prospect the European 2nd round draft pick (107th overall) in 2017 scored his second goal of the game in an empty net at 14:08.
Knowing his starting netminder Morrone will be in net tomorrow in Val-d’Or Roy send young Marc-Antoine Berure Jalbert between the pipes for the last 5:15 of the game making four saves.
Quebec will continue their five games in eight nights going to Val-d’Or facing the Foreurs on Wednesday night.
No other games was schedule in QMJHL on Tuesday night.
