SOUTHAVEN, Miss – The Mississippi RiverKings and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser have announced the signing of rookie of goaltender Jared Rutledge.
Rutledge, 23, begins his professional career after two seasons backstopping Aurora University of the NCHA. While playing for Aurora, Rutledge posted a 4.55 goals against average and .890 save percentage in 38 games.
The Chicago, IL, native played ten games for the University of Michigan before signing on with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL in 2013-14. After 69 total games in the USHL and six games in the NAHL between 2013-14 and 2014-15, Rutledge returned to college hockey where he stood out with the Aurora Spartans.
Rutledge is the second goaltender signing to be announced by the RiverKings with Tyler Green coming over in a trade with Fayetteville earlier this summer
