RiverKings shutout in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Mississippi RiverKings (16-11-2) dropped their first game in Huntsville this season as Adam Courchaine and the Huntsville Havoc (21-5-1) shutout the RiverKings 3-0 on Saturday night.

The Havoc struck first in the opening period. Johnny Daniels picked up a rebound right at the goal mouth and slipped it past goaltender Brad Barone to put the home team up 1-0 9:16 into the first.

In the second, the period remained scoreless until the final minute. Sy Nutkevitch picked up his own rebound and lifted a shot over Barone to give the Havoc a 2-0 lead going into the third.

Huntsville notched their third goal of the game midway through the third. With Tyler Barr in the box for tripping, Andy Willigar took a pass from Nolan Kaiser and one-timed a slap shot from the bluline past Barone to give the Havoc a 3-0 lead that they would hold onto for the victory.

Brad Barone (8-7-2) took the loss after stopping 27 of 30 shots against. Adam Courchaine (10-2-1) picked up the shutout after stopping all 19 shots against
