RiverKings Re-sign Harrington, Add Rookie Carvalho

The Mississippi RiverKings and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser continue to add depth to the forward position as the team announced the return of SPHL Veteran Matt Harrington and the signing of rookie Jordan Carvalho.

Harrington, 26, returns for his seventh professional season and his fifth with the Mississippi RiverKings. The North Port, Florida, native began his pro career in 2011-12 with the Pensacola Ice Flyers after five years in juniors. He landed in Southaven in 2012-13 and has been a mainstay on Coach Landmesser’s roster ever since. A veteran forward, Harrington has played in over 200 games in the SPHL and competed in 22 games in the ECHL. In his time with the RiverKings, Harrington has averaged 30.2 points per season and looks to be a significant factor on the score sheet again this year.

Jordan Carvalho comes to the RiverKings embarking on his first professional season. At 6-foot, 181 pounds, the high-scoring forward tallied 99 points in 97 games while in college at Morrisville State in New York. 2016-17 proved to be the Brampton, Ontario, native’s most successful season where he garnered 37 total points, 31 of them being helpers.
