River Dragons Scorch HC Venom

Columbus, GA – The Columbus River Dragons shutout the HC Venom in regulation on Sunday, 3-0.

Cody Wickline scored twice, once on a centering pass from Alex Storjohann at 8:58 in the second period and a shorthanded goal from a pass by Austin Daae at 7:01 in the third period.

Austin Daae sealed the win for Columbus, scoring the shorthanded empty net goal with less than a minute left in the game.

Trevor Babin recorded his first shutout with the River Dragons, making 20 saves.

With tonight’s victory, the Columbus River Dragons secured their place in the 2025 FPHL Commissioner’s Cup Playoffs.

The River Dragons will play next in Monroe versus the Moccasins on Thursday, Friday and Saturday before returning home to conclude the regular season at home against the Rock Lobsters on April 11 and 12.
