Columbus, GA – The Columbus River Dragons took their second victory of the weekend over the Biloxi Breakers on Saturday night, defeating them in regulation, 5-1.

Trevor Babin got the go-ahead to start for the River Dragons, and Anton Borodkin manned the cage for the Biloxi Breakers.
Babin shut out the Biloxi Breakers in the first twenty minutes, facing nine shots.
Alexander Jmaeff hammered the only goal of the inaugural frame at 8:30, scoring on a 4-on-4 scenario following a fight between Joel Texmo and AJ Schlepp at 6:56.
The next twenty minutes illuminated a solid effort by Columbus, beating down on a frustrated Biloxi bench with three goals.
Lucas Texmo cut through the Biloxi defense at 14:19, scoring on an assist by Tyler Barrow.
Throughout the next five minutes, the River Dragons and the Biloxi Breakers traded shots, until the River Dragons punched through and scored two back to back goals within 45 seconds.
First, Tyler Barrow ripped one through on a breakaway at 18:45. Then at 19:30, Cody Wickline buried one in the cage. The second frame closed with the River Dragons ahead, 4-0.
At 7:20 in the third period, Cody Wickline landed his second goal of the night, pushing the Dragons to a 5-point lead over the Biloxi Breakers.
At 10:13, DonHeaven Veilleux managed to squeeze one between the pipes, denying Trevor Babin his second shutout of the season.
The contest concluded in regulation with the River Dragons ahead, 5-1.
Tyler Barrow, Alex Storjohann, and Cody Wickline each produced 3-point performances.
Wickline achieved two goals and an assist, earning him recognition as the night’s First Star of the Game. Barrow scored one goal and assisted twice, earning him the “Second Star”, and Storjohann assisted three times.
Trevor Babin was recognized as the night’s Third Star of the Game, making 18 saves on 19 shots for a 94.74 SV% for the River Dragons.
