QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Playing game seven in President Cup final is something every players want to live once in their life. With the score been tied 1-1 after sixty minutes of regulation time plus one overtime period, Michael Joly in second overtime period scores the goal that give the President Cup the QMJHL Championship trophy to Rimouski in a 2-1 win.
Rimouski open the scoring in QMJHL President Cup final game seven taking advantage of their first power play opportunity. Coming out from behind the net left winger Christopher Claperton backhand shot deflected on Quebec defenseman Matt Murphy’s skate before going in exactly at 12:00 of first period. 
Missing their first opportunity with a man advantage, Quebec tied the score on their second power play chances. Coming out of his net Rimouski netminder Philippe Desrosiers miss-played the puck seeing Quebec defenseman Nikolas Brouillard taking the puck to surprise Oceanic goaltender between his pads for Quebec first goal with 4:20 remaining in the opening period.
Quebec defenseman Raphael Maheux was in penalty box for holding. Quebec dominated shots on goal 19-7.
One mane was on everyone lips after that second period at the financial Sun Life coliseum. This name was Philippe Desrosiers. The Oceanic goaltender kept his team in the game by making several key saves preventing the opponent to take the lead.
Dominating first period in shots on goal Quebec continued with 9 shots with five great scoring chances coming from the stick of Anthony Duclair (2), Vladimir Tkachev, Marc-Andre Roy and Jerome Verrier. Each times Desrosiers stayed calm and made the saves.
Rimouski got only five shots on Fucale best scoring chance coming from a wrist shot from defenseman Samuel Morin. Fucale made the save with his glove.
After scoreless second periods both teams got several scoring chances in third periods but like in middle each netminder on their respective side refused to give up anything forcing to play in overtime to find a winner.
If Quebec got the best on first portion of third period with great scoring opportunities coming from Frederik Gauthier, Michael Joly and Alexis Loiseau, Quebec scoring chances came from stick of Anthony Duclair, Marc-Olivier Roy.
On each times respective goaltenders Zachary Fucale for Quebec and Philippe Desrosiers for Rimouski closed the door being perfect in last forty minutes of regulation time.
After first overtime period without goal, a penalty to Matt Murphy open the door to Rimouski in second overtime period. Michael Joly redirect shot from Frederik Gauthier behind Zachary Fucale for the game winning goal 2:13 into second overtime period.
