Rimouski return home winning against Quebec Dove-McFalls scores goal that made the difference

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Coming in Quebec with their two regular goaltenders on injury list Rimouski found a way to win 3-2 over Quebec thanks to solid performance of third goaltender Carmine-Anthony Pagliarulo earning the first star of the game making 34 saves out of Quebec 36 shots. Samuel Dove-McFalls scores the goal that made the difference in Oceanic favor.

“We played a A game last night and we lose, today we played a game that I have hard time to find word to qualify and we won the game.” Rimouski head coach Serge Beausoleil said.

“Guys found a way in the third to win, hat off to Pagliarulo who really was the star of the game for us. Tonight he was our number one, tonight we were dominated in every phases of the game, we have to give credit to Remparts we have had our feet in concrete Pagliarulo kept us in the game and it was big two points for us.”

As far as the stars himself Carmine-Anthony Pagliarulo he was so happy to win the game. “I didn’t expected it, one week ago I was watching Quebec game on T.V. and Antoine Samuel was my goaltender and playing against him beating him it was so special.” Rimouski goaltender Carmine-Anthony Pagliarulo said near Rimouski locker room.

“Also like you said in the Videotron Center it was so special, I can’t imagine better scenario, in front of my family, it was very fun game.”

In an offensive first period three goals were scored on first three shots in the game in span of 2:59. Quebec opened the scoring as Gregor MacLeod beat Rimouski goaltender Carmine-Anthony Pagliarulo 34sseconds in.

Rimouski tied the game 2:25 later also on their first shot on goal. Anthony Gagnon redirect a shot from teammate Louis-Pilippe Denis 2:14 into first period. Coming from Gatineau Olympiques at QMJHL trading deadline it was Gagnon first goal in 10 games with his new team.

Oceanic took the lead for first time in the game 45 seconds later on their second shots in the game Charles-Edward D’Astous shot beat Quebec veteran netminder over his right shoulder at 2:59.

After first three goals in the game on first three shots, fans has had to wait until 16:09 second of second periods before seeing another goal scored. A turnover along the board by Quebec forward Olivier Mathieu led to Rimouski third goals. Samuel Dove McFall gave Oceanic a two goal leads scoring his 17th of the year with 3:51 remaining in the middle frame.

Beneficiary of a five-on-three power pay for 1:37 with 2:13 to go in second periods, Quebec cut Rimouski lead in half with Pascal Laberge scoring his 12th of the year, his sixth with Quebec on Quebec 28th shots on goal. Philipp Kurashev and MacLeod got assists on Quebec second goal at 18:50.

Neither team scored in third periods as Rimouski left Quebec with two points in the standing.

“We have had great week,” Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher said resuming the four games in last six days of his team. “Against Victoriaville on Wednesday it was a good game. We played against three teams in our division, yesterday against Baie-Comeau we found a way to win and I really thought we could do the same in third today but I have to give credit to their goaltender they played well on the other side. Their goaltender played the game of his life.”

Quebec will go on the road for next three games making first stop in Shawinigan next Tuesday.
