MANCHESTER, NH – According the New Hampshire Union Leader, Manchester Monarchs goalie Patrik Bartosak is facing twelve domestic-related charges. He waived arraignment on Tuesday in New Hampshire’s 9th Circuit court. The charges include a felony charge of second-degree assault, seven domestic simple assault charges, and three criminal threatening charges.
Bartosak was released on $10,000 cash bond, under the conditions that he does not see the victim or visit her address. A hearing date was set for December 16, where a judge will hear evidence and make a decision on probable cause in the case. The Monarchs released the following statement regarding the situation:
On behalf of the Manchester Monarchs and NHL affiliate LA Kings
“This is a very serious matter and these allegations represent a type of behavior we do not stand for. We will continue to gather information and comment further when appropriate.”
Bartosak, a former 5th round pick in 2013, was sent down to the Monarchs for a conditioning stint by the Ontario Reign on Saturday. Bartosak started games on Saturday and Sunday for the Monarchs and went 1-1 on the weekend. This could be a major blow for the Monarchs, who could be without their number one goalie.
