San Jose had used a power play at 8:30 of the middle frame to take a 1-0 lead on a strike by Fabian Zetterlund .
Carter Verhaeghe tied the game, 1-1, for Florida just 78 seconds after San Jose had taken the lead.
The Panthers iced the game with an empty-net goal from Kevin Stenlund with two seconds left on the third period clock.
Mackenzie Blackwood made 32 saves in the Sharks loss.
