Des Moines, IA – The Ontario Reign (4-3-3-0) erased a two-goal deficit and snapped a three-game winless skid with a 6-5 shootout victory over the Iowa Wild (5-7-0-1) at Wells Fargo Arena. 
The Wild opened the scoring midway through the first period when rookie Alex Tuch knocked in a rebound under the feet of Reign netminder Anders Lindback (W, 23 saves on 28 shots) at 9:03. Late in the frame, forward Adrian Kempe put the Reign on the scoreboard with a snapshot over the glove of Steve Michalek (SOL, 35 saves on 40 shots) off the left-wing circle at 18:17.
In the second period, the Wild added three tallies and took a 4-2 lead into the intermission. Wild defenseman Max Fortunus grabbed his first goal of the season at 1:18, but Justin Auger made it 2-2 seconds later at 1:33. Forward Adam Gilmour swung the momentum back to the Wild bench with a shorthanded goal at 7:05. Forward Mario Lucia created a two-goal advantage with his third goal of the season at 12:25.
With three goals in the third period, the Reign bounced back to take a 5-4 lead. Forward Andrew Crescenzi buried an unassisted goal at 5:57 to start the rush, defenseman Paul LaDue recorded his first pro goal on the power play at 11:05 and forward Mike Amadio chipped in a loose puck at 12:10. Looking to retaliate, the Wild pulled the goaltender for the extra skater and were rewarded with a 6-on-5 goal from Jeff Hoggan with 19 seconds left. In overtime, the Reign fired five shots, but moved into their second-ever shootout. Forward Jonny Brodzinski deked in his breakaway maker in the first round and forward Sean Backman added the go-ahead tally in the fifth round. Lindback made four saves including stops on two game-winning scenarios for the Wild to solidify the victory.
The Reign finished the night 1-for-6 on the power play while the Wild went 0-for-4.
