Reign moves on to face Grizzlies after defeating Eagles 4-2 in Game 7 Eagles leave it all on the ice but Reign move on

2015KellyCupPlayoffs_665x315ONTARIO, Ca. – Game 7 between the Colorado Eagles and the Ontario Reign started out looking a whole lot like game 6 with the Eagles scoring first but unable to make that lead last more than a few minutes. Ontario tied the game scoring four consecutive goals in a row. The only difference scoring wise was that Colorado managed to score two goals instead of just one to make the final tally in their series losing game 4 to 2.

Kyle Kraemer started off the scoring with wrist shot from the high slot that went through

Jussi Olkinoura at 14:09 of the first period, on a pass from Taylor Vause, to give the Eagles a short lived 1 to 0 lead.

Less than three minutes later with Darryl Bootland in the box for  interference  Matt White popped a rebound past Clark Saunders that accounted for the 1 to 1 tie going in to the first intermission.

Period two saw the Reign continue their scoring eventually making it four unanswered  goals. Garry Nunn was credited with a rebound goal at 8:13 for the 2 to 1 lead. At 16:02 Everrit Sheen put the puck past Saunders on a three on one rush to push the lead to 3 to 1 and 1:32 later Matt White tallied his second goal of the night to conclude the scoring for the Reign

Kyle Kraemer finally answered the Ontario scoring splurge with his second goal for the Eagles with 13 seconds left in the second period.

and held the Reign scoreless for the final frame however Olkinoura did the same against the Eagles despite their best efforts.

Although the 4-2 final score may have ended up very similar to the previous game the work and effort put forth by the Eagles was vastly different. A lot of hard-nosed and tenacious hockey was on display in the series but none more so than Game 7 for both teams.

Ontario plays a game that is based on their ability to manhandle and out physical other teams. They will match up well with Utah in the Division finals as they both play a similar style of hockey.

Dates and times for the Divisional finals are still pending.
