Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar were two of four Avalanche skaters to score multiple times in a nine-goal outburst that saw the Avalanche win by an eight-goal margin on the road for the first time in team history.
* David Pastrnak and Leo Carlsson helped the Bruins and Ducks extend the NHL’s longest active winning streak to six games, with the latter achieving a franchise first in Anaheim’s overtime victory.

* Cole Caufield and Nathan MacKinnon overtook the League’s goal race with their 12th goal of the season, while Macklin Celebrini scored his 10th goal and joined a small list of teenagers to hit the mark in 16 games or fewer since 1990-91.
MacKINNON, MAKAR LEAD AN AVALANCHE OF GOALS
Nathan MacKinnon (2-2—4) and Cale Makar (2-0—2) combined for four of nine Colorado goals and helped the Avalanche (9-1-5, 23 points) maintain top spot in the NHL standings. Colorado scored nine tallies on the road for the second time in Avalanche team history, following March 8, 2004 (9-2 W at VAN), and posted the largest margin of victory in a road game in team history (eight goals).
* The Avalanche had four players post multi-goal games (Makar, MacKinnon, Parker Kelly & Jack Drury) and matched the most in a single game in franchise history (also: Feb 10, 1985 & Oct. 22, 1983). The last team to accomplish the feat was the Blue Jackets (4 on Nov. 11, 2016).
* MacKinnon (12-12—24 in 15 GP) tied Macklin Celebrini (10-14—24 in 16 GP) for the League lead in scoring thanks to his 30th career four-point game, two shy of Joe Sakic (32) for second most in Avalanche/Nordiques history. Since MacKinnon debuted in 2013-14, only two players have as many four-point outings: Connor McDavid (41) and Nikita Kucherov (33).
* Makar extended his season-opening road point streak to nine games. Only three different defensemen in NHL history have posted a longer run: Paul Coffey (12 GP in 1986-87 & 10 GP in 1988-89), Filip Hronek (11 GP in 2022-23) and Rob Blake (10 GP in 1992-93).-09015557.png)
STARS PROPEL CANADIENS AND BRUINS TO 10TH WIN OF THE SEASON
The Canadiens (10-3-2, 22 points) and Bruins (10-7-0, 20 points) became the first two Atlantic Division teams to hit the 10-win mark in 2025-26 and did so thanks in part to notable performances from Cole Caufield (2-0—2), Nick Suzuki (1-0—1) and David Pastrnak (1-0—1), respectively.
* Caufield scored one of Montreal’s two game-tying goals and captain Suzuki scored the fourth of five consecutive Canadiens tallies as the club earned 10 wins through their first 15 games of a season for the first time since 2016-17 (13-1-1). Caufield (12-6—18 in 15 GP) became just the third Canadiens player in the past 40 years to score 12 goals through his first 15 games of a season, following Brian Savage (13 in 1995-96) and Mats Naslund (12 in 1985-86).
* Suzuki (4-16—20 in 15 GP), who has found the score sheet in each of Montreal’s first seven home games of the season, required the fewest games by a Canadiens player to hit 20 points in a single season since franchise icon Saku Koivu (14 GP in 1996-97).

* After a frantic start that saw the teams combine for three goals in a span of 32 seconds, Pastrnak scored his 25th career tally against Toronto (33 GP) and boosted his goals-per-game rate versus the franchise to 0.76 – the third highest by any Bruins player against the Maple Leafs (min. 10 GP) behind Cam Neely (1.06; 19 in 18 GP) and Marty Barry (0.81; 26 in 32 GP). The Bruins extended the NHL’s longest active winning streak to six games (tied) – the last time they posted a longer run was 2022-23 (5x; longest: 10 GP).
AROUND THE RINKS

* Macklin Celebrini scored his 10th goal of the season and became the fourth teenager in the past decade to hit a double-digit total in 16 contests or fewer. The Sharks, who defeated the Jets on Friday and the Panthers on Saturday, became the seventh team in NHL history to defeat the reigning Presidents’ Trophy winner and Stanley Cup champion on consecutive days (any order) and first since the 2016-17 Red Wings (Feb. 18-19, 2017).
* Leo Carlsson (2-1—3) scored twice in regulation and collected the lone assist on Jacob Trouba’s overtime goal as the Ducks captured their sixth straight win. Carlsson, whose five career three-point games tied Mason McTavish for the most by a Ducks player before their 21st birthday, became the first player in franchise history to score 40 career goals at age 20 or younger (40-57—97 in 145 GP).
* Jake Allen made 33 saves and two more in the shootout to help the Devils extend their season-opening home win streak to seven games and move within one of their longest in franchise history (8 GP in 1987-88). Allen tied Chris Terreri (5 GP in 1990-91) for the fourth-longest season-opening home winning streak – he trails Alain Chevrier (10 GP in 1987-88), Martin Brodeur (9 GP in 1997-98) and Cory Schneider (7 GP in 2016-17).
OLYMPIC-BOUND STARS MAKE THEIR MARK
NHL players will soon be heading to Italy to play for gold at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The men’s tournament begins Wednesday, Feb. 11, and skaters set to travel overseas to represent their country made an impact on the Saturday slate.
* After the Flyers scored twice to erase a 2-0 lead, Tim Stützle (2-0—2) scored the overtime winner to help the Senators win their fourth straight game against the Flyers. Stützle, who will represent Team Germany at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, tied Mike Fisher (7 GP) for the second-most overtime goals in franchise history behind Brady Tkachuk (11). He also tied Leon Draisaitl for the most multi-goal games by a German-born player at age 23 or younger.
* Nikolaj Ehlers (0-1—1), one of six players named to Team Denmark’s preliminary roster for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, collected his 300th career assist and joined Frans Nielsen (306) as the second Danish player to reach the milestone. The Hurricanes won their third straight game and improved to 10-4-0 – Carolina (14 GP) has hit the 10-win plateau faster only four times, with the franchise mark set in 2021-22 (11 GP).

CROSBY, KOPITAR SET TO GO HEAD-TO-HEAD FOR FINAL TIME
Sidney Crosby and Anze Kopitar are set to go head-to-head for the final time during the regular season when the Kings visit the Penguins on a national broadcast across Canada on Sportsnet One and TVA Sports. They played one another for the first time on Nov. 1, 2006, a contest that saw Crosby record three assists including one on Evgeni Malkin’s overtime winner. The Kings captain bests the Penguins captain in head-to-head record (LAK: 12-6-5, PIT: 11-9-3), while Crosby holds a slight edge in production (8-16—24; Kopitar: 7-16—23) through their 23 matchups.
