Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each collected four points and combined on three of nine Oilers goals as Edmonton matched the highest single-game output by a team this season. The Oilers duo have now factored on the same goal 503 times – the fifth most in NHL history by a pair of teammates.
* Kent Johnson and Adam Fantilli helped the Blue Jackets earn a win in their first home game against the Red Wings since the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Ohio Stadium.
* Mathew Barzal and the Islanders snapped the League-leading Avalanche’s lengthy point streak and Matthew Schaefer joined more rare NHL company by reaching 20 career points.
McDAVID AND DRAISAITL CLIMB ALL-TIME LISTS WITH MATCHING FOUR-POINT NIGHTS
Connor McDavid (3-1—4) and Leon Draisaitl (1-3—4) factored on the same goal three times and powered an Oilers offense that outputted nine goals. In the process, they climbed individual franchise lists and achieved notable feats as teammates. Edmonton became the third team to score nine times in a game this season (BUF: Nov. 21 & COL: Nov. 8) and found the back of the net three times in each period of a game for the first time since Oct. 21, 1986.
* McDavid and Draisaitl each posted four or more points in the same game for the 11th time in their careers, which tied Wayne Gretzky and Glenn Anderson for the fifth-most instances by a duo in NHL history. They now trail only Jari Kurri and Gretzky (30x), Bryan Trottier and Mike Bossy (23x), Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito (13x) as well as Ken Hodge and Esposito (12x).
* The three goals McDavid and Draisaitl combined on came on the power play and have done so on the man advantage 246 times in their careers. The only teammates in NHL history to factor on as many are Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby (267x) as well as Henrik and Daniel Sedin (251x).
* The duo also tied or passed Mark Messier on separate all-time Oilers lists: McDavid (13) matched him for the fourth-most hat tricks in franchise history, while Draisaitl (28 GP) passed him for the fourth-most four-point games. Overall, the Oilers captain collected his 42nd career four-point game to move within one of Crosby for the most among active players and became the third player to reach the 40-point mark this season alongside Nathan MacKinnon (46) and Macklin Celebrini (40).
BLUE JACKETS PREVAIL IN BACK-AND-FORTH CONTEST AGAINST RIVAL RED WINGS
Kent Johnson (1-0—1) had the shootout winner as the Blue Jackets prevailed in a thrilling game against the Red Wings that featured five power-play goals during the second period, four tying tallies overall and Patrick Kane (1-1—2) passing Mike Modano (358) for the most multi-point performances by a U.S.-born player in NHL history. Columbus improved to 5-0-3 in its last eight contests at Nationwide Arena dating to Oct. 29, with the eight-game run tied for the second longest home point streak in franchise history.

* Adam Fantilli had one of the power-play goals during the middle frame as well as the contest’s final tying tally when he pulled Columbus even with 1:31 remaining in regulation. Fantilli became the third member of the 2023 NHL Draft class to reach 100 career points, following Connor Bedard (167) and Leo Carlsson (110).
Did You Know? The 2023 NHL Draft class became the third in nearly 35 years to feature the first three selections each record 100 points at age 21 or younger. The others: 2016 (Auston Matthews, Patrik Laine & Pierre-Luc Dubois) and 2011 (Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Gabriel Landeskog & Jonathan Huberdeau).
Islanders snap League-leading Avalanche’s 17-game point streak
Mathew Barzal (1-2—3), Bo Horvat (1-1—2), Anders Lee (1-1—2) and Ryan Pulock (0-2—2) posted multiple points to help the Islanders snap an opponent’s point streak of 17-plus contests for the first time in franchise history. The lengthiest runs New York had halted before Thursday were 16-game streaks by Pittsburgh (Feb. 19, 2007) and Toronto (Dec. 27, 2003).
* Horvat climbed within five goals of Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy race leader Nathan MacKinnon (22) and Lee logged his 295th career tally to move into a tie for fifth place on the franchise’s all-time list with Brock Nelson, who was honored with a first-period video tribute in his return to UBS Arena. Patrick Roy piloted the hosts to victory as the Islanders became the first team in nearly two months with a regulation win against Roy’s former team.
* Matthew Schaefer (18 years, 90 days) had an assist and became the fifth-youngest player in NHL history to reach 20 career points behind Bep Guidolin (17 years, 60 days on Feb. 7, 1943), Don Gallinger (17 years, 271 days on Jan. 12, 1943), Ted Kennedy (17 years, 364 days on Dec. 11, 1943) and Brian Bellows (18 years, 86 days on Nov. 26, 1982). Schaefer was the League’s youngest defenseman to hit the mark, besting Doug Bodger (18 years, 222 days on Jan. 26, 1985).

PANARIN POTS 900TH CAREER POINT AS RANGERS CONTINUE ROAD SUCCESS
Artemi Panarin (1-1—2) factored on two of four Rangers goals as New York captured its NHL-leading 12th road win of 2025-26 (12-4-1) and matched the fewest games in franchise history to a dozen victories as the visitor in a single season (also 17 GP in 2023-24 & 2010-11).
* Panarin (311-589—900 in 781 GP) became the eighth active player to reach 900 career points in 800 games or fewer. The others: Connor McDavid (602 GP), Sidney Crosby (677 GP), Nikita Kucherov (743 GP), Leon Draisaitl (751 GP), Evgeni Malkin (762 GP), Alex Ovechkin (764 GP) and Nathan MacKinnon (792 GP).

CELEBRINI, ROBERTSON FACE OFF DURING FIVE-GAME FRIDAY SLATE
Two of the League’s top scorers in Macklin Celebrini (14-26—40 in 28 GP; t-2nd) and Jason Robertson (17-19—36 in 28 GP; t-5th) will go head-to-head when the Sharks (13-12-3, 29 points) clash with the Stars (18-5-5, 41 points) during a five-game slate. Celebrini enters play with 40 points in 2025-26 and is one of only five teenagers in NHL history to record that many prior to their 30th game of a season – a list topped by Sidney Crosby (16-36—52 in 29 GP) in 2006-07. Robertson, meanwhile, needs four points to join Celebrini with 40 and can become the first player in Stars team history to reach the mark in in 30 games or fewer multiple times (also 25 GP in 2022-23).
