Olivier, Coyle collect four points apiece as Columbus clips Toronto
The line of Mathieu Olivier (1-3—4), Charlie Coyle (0-4—4) and Cole Sillinger (2-1—3) combined for 11 points as the Blue Jackets improved to 6-4-0 (12 points) on the season including three consecutive wins. Olivier’s four points were a single-game career high, besting his previous mark of three from Feb. 18, 2023.

* Olivier signed a six-year contract extension in March and Coyle was acquired by Columbus in June after the Blue Jackets concluded last season two points back of the Eastern Conference’s final Wild Card spot. Columbus is looking to snap a five-season playoff drought and clinch its first berth since 2020, when the Blue Jackets earned a five-game series win against the Maple Leafs in the Stanley Cup Qualifiers.
* John Tavares tallied a third-period marker and became the second player to reach the 500-goal milestone while playing for Toronto (also Mats Sundin on Oct. 14, 2006). Wednesday’s edition of #NHLStats: Live Updates featured more notes on Tavares as well as Olivier, Coyle and Sillinger.

STARS AND LIGHTNING READY FOR NHL ON TNT MEETING
The Stars and Lightning, who have combined for seven appearances in the Conference Finals/Semifinals since their clash in the 2020 Stanley Cup Final, headline an 11-game Thursday of NHL action when the two clubs clash on TNT and HBO Max.

* Jake Guentzel (45-45—90 in 90 GP), who has averaged one point per game during his tenure with Tampa Bay, is closing in on his 100th career game with the Lightning. Should he continue that pace for the next 10 contests, he can become the second player to register at least 100 points through their first 100 career games with the franchise; Brian Bradley (51-54—105 in 100 GP) is the only one to do so to date.
* Tyler Seguin, who netted the game-winning goal for the Stars during Frozen Frenzy, is set to appear in his 1,000th NHL game when the puck drops at Benchmark International Arena. Seguin (363-451—814 in 999 GP) will join Jeff Skinner (376-328—704 in 1,087 GP) and Cam Fowler (105-390—495 in 1,052 GP) as the third skater from the 2010 NHL Draft to reach the 1,000-game milestone.
