* Saturday’s star-studded 11-game schedule is highlighted by Hockey Night in Canada contests in Pittsburgh, Nashville and Los Angeles.

KAPRIZOV HELPS WILD WIN SEVENTH STRAIGHT, STOP STREAKING AVALANCHE
Kirill Kaprizov (2-0—2) hit the 200-goal milestone and helped the Wild emerge victorious against the Avalanche in a battle between the NHL’s two longest winning streaks heading into American Thanksgiving. Minnesota extended its winning streak to seven games and snapped Colorado’s at 10, marking the first time in franchise history the Wild snapped an opponent’s double-digit run.

* Kaprizov (201) surpassed Zach Parise (199) for sole possession of the third-most goals in Wild history. Kaprizov (344 GP) also became the fastest Wild player to hit the 200-goal milestone, besting Marian Gaborik (475 GP) and Mikko Koivu (969 GP).

* Jesper Wallstedt extended his point streak to nine games (7-0-2) and tied Kaapo Kahkonen (9-0-0 in 2020-21) for the longest run by a Wild rookie goaltender. Wallstedt also became the fifth rookie netminder in NHL history to snap an opponent’s double-digit winning streak, following Stuart Skinner (March 9, 2023 w/ EDM; BOS: 10 GP), Warren Skorodenski (March 27, 1985 w/ CHI; PHI: 11 GP), Gord McRae (March 31, 1973 w/ TOR; BOS: 10 GP) and Paul Goodman (Jan. 14, 1940 w/ CHI; NYR: 10 GP).

* The Wild improved to 11-1-1 (23 points) this November. Minnesota has posted more points in a calendar month just twice: April 2022 (12-2-2, 26 points) and December 2016 (12-1-1, 25 points).

RANGERS TRIO SHOW OUT IN NHL THANKSGIVING SHOWDOWN
Artemi Panarin (1-3—4), Adam Fox (0-3—3) and Mika Zibanejad (2-0—2) gave New York fans plenty to be thankful for as the Rangers potted six goals en route to victory in the NHL Thanksgiving Showdown – the most goals by one team in the League’s annual contest. Overall, New York and Boston combined for eight goals, which matched last year’s event for the most combined by both teams (DAL: 5, COL: 3).

* Panarin recorded his 19th career four-point game with New York and tied Jean Ratelle for the second most in franchise history, behind Rod Gilbert (25). It also marked his third four-point game of 2025-26, which is the most among all players.

* Fox recorded his 15th career three-assist game and surpassed Wayne Gretzky and Zibanejad for the seventh most in Rangers history – a list topped by Brian Leetch (37 GP). Fox also recorded his 30th multi-assist period and matched Ron Greschner for the second most among Rangers defensemen behind Leetch (70). Of note, Greschner was sometimes deployed as a forward during his 16-season tenure with the Rangers.

* Zibanejad (2 in 0:45) scored the fastest two power-play goals by a Rangers player since Matt Cullen (0:32 on March 17, 2007). The first of those two goals stood as the game winner, moving Zibanejad into a tie with Leetch (37) for the seventh most in franchise history.

SCHAEFER, GEEKIE AND KUCHEROV LEAVING THEIR MARK ON THE CALENDAR

Matthew Schaefer (1-1—2), Morgan Geekie (1-0—1) and Nikita Kucherov (0-2—2) each found the score sheet during the NHL’s 15-game Black Friday slate and bolstered their impressive totals this year in the process.

* Schaefer factored on two of three Islanders tallies as New York erased a three-goal deficit to salvage a point against Philadelphia. The No. 1 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, who boosted his career totals to 8-10—18 (25 GP), became the third 18-year-old defenseman in League history to score five goals in a calendar month and sixth with 10 or more points in a single calendar month (age based at start of month). The others: Phil Housley (5x; most: 13 in Jan. & Feb. 1983), Ray Bourque (2x; most: 13 in Dec. 1979), Bobby Orr (2x: most: 10 in Nov. 1966 & March 1967), Rasmus Dahlin (10 in Nov. 2018) and Jim Benning (10 in Dec. 1981).

* Overall, Schaefer tied Bourque (18 in 1967-68) for the second-most points by an 18-year-old blueliner through their first 25 career outings.

* Geekie scored his 18th goal of the season to move into a brief tie for the League lead in goals and netted his 43rd in 2025 during the regular season to extend his NHL-best total since Jan. 1 (43 in 69 GP) – two ahead of teammate and second-ranked David Pastrnak (41 in 68 GP). The 2025 calendar year is the fourth in the past 50 years to feature multiple Bruins players with 40 or more regular-season goals alongside 2019 (Brad Marchand & Pastrnak), 1982 (Barry Pederson & Rick Middleton) and 1981 (Peter McNab & Middleton).

* Kucherov (31-69—100 in 73 GP), who reached the 100-point mark in a calendar year for the seventh time in his career (regular season & playoffs), assisted on two of six Lightning goals as his club extended their win streak to six games dating to Nov. 18 and have outscored their opponents 26-9 during that span. Tampa Bay sat sixth in the Atlantic Division and four points back of first-place Boston prior to its winning streak but now own a three-point cushion on second-place Montreal.

* Kucherov (4-11—15 in 8 GP) recorded a point streak of at least eight games for the 20th time in his career and became the fourth active player to register as many. The others: Connor McDavid (22x), Sidney Crosby (21x) and Alex Ovechkin (20x).

#NHLSTATS: LIVE UPDATES HAS CARLSSON COLLECTING LATE TYING GOAL FOR DUCKS

Friday’s edition of #NHLStats: Live Updates featured more notes from the 15-game slate, including notable performances by forwards Leo Carlsson and Seth Jarvis as well as defensemen Kris Letang and Jakob Chychrun:

* Carlsson (1-2—3) collected the tying goal with 1:31 left in regulation and Troy Terry (0-1—1) tallied the shootout decider as the Pacific Division-leading Ducks rallied from three separate deficits – including a 4-2 hole during the third period – to defeat the Kings. Anaheim earned its NHL-best (tied w/ DAL) fifth multi-goal comeback win of the season.

* Jarvis scored three of Carolina’s five goals Friday for his second career hat trick to reach the 15-goal mark this season. He became the second player in Hurricanes team history to tally 15 goals in 24 or fewer games, following Eric Staal (21 GP in 2005-06).

* After Sidney Crosby recorded his 639 and 640th goals to climb the NHL’s all-time lists for goals and multi-goal performances, Letang scored his 12th career overtime winner to help the Penguins secure their first multi-goal, third-period comeback win since April 2, 2024 (6-3 at NJD). Letang tied Erik Karlsson and Seth Jones for the third-most overtime tallies by a defenseman in NHL history, behind Brent Burns (16) and Scott Niedermayer (13).

* Chychrun became the first defenseman to score 10 goals this season as he netted the game winner in Washington’s first multi-goal comeback victory of the season. He also extended his point streak to 10 games, tying Al Iafrate (1992-93) and Robert Picard (1978-79) for the longest run by a defenseman in Capitals history.

CROSBY CONTINUES PURSUIT OF MARIO ON HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA

An 11-game Saturday starts early with the Atlantic Division’s top team, the Lightning, visiting the Rangers at 2 p.m. ET on NHL Network and Sportsnet ONE and includes a three-pack of games on Sportsnet’s Hockey Night in Canada broadcast with intriguing star player matchups including Auston Matthews vs. Sidney Crosby (TOR at PIT), Quinn Hughes vs. Anze Kopitar (VAN at LAK) and Mark Scheifele vs. Filip Forsberg (WPG at NSH).

* At age 38, Crosby (15-10—25 in 23 GP) is once again producing at a point-per-game pace, something he has done an NHL record 20 times in his career. The longest-tenured captain in League history (tied) has the Penguins (12-6-5, 29 points) in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race after a 13th-place finish in the conference last season.

* Crosby has already reached a pair of major milestones early in 2025-26 by becoming the ninth player in NHL history to reach the 1,700-point milestone (Oct. 27) and the sixth player to rack up 500 multi-point games in the regular season (Nov. 22).

* Another major accomplishment Crosby (640-1,072—1,712 in 1,375 GP) is closing in on this season is his pursuit of Mario Lemieux (690-1,033—1,723 in 915 GP) for the Penguins’ all-time points record as well as eighth place on the NHL’s all-time points list.

* Crosby has been linked to franchise icon Lemieux throughout his whole career, with both being first overall NHL Draft picks by the Penguins, both captaining the franchise to multiple Stanley Cup wins while earning a trophy case full of individual NHL Awards and both leading Team Canada to international championships, something Crosby will try to do again at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

* When Pittsburgh selected Crosby first overall in 2005, it was Lemieux, representing the ownership group, who handed Crosby his first Penguins jersey on the draft stage. Crosby would start his NHL career living with Lemieux and his family to help adjust to NHL life in a new city, and the two suited up together for the Penguins for 26 games in the 2005-06 season.
