Jesper Wallstedt shut out the Jets and became the fourth-youngest goaltender in NHL history with a season-opening point streak of at least eight games.
* Macklin Celebrini put up a multi-point performance and became the fifth teenager in the past 40 years to record 70 or more points in a calendar year.
* Anze Kopitar and the Kings clash with Tim Stützle and the Senators on Prime Monday Night Hockey to cap off a seven-game slate.

WALLSTEDT DELIVERS ANOTHER SHUTOUT FOR MINNESOTA IN FIFTH STRAIGHT WIN
After four straight wins, including his last two against the division-leading Ducks and Hurricanes, Jesper Wallstedt made 32 saves for his League-leading third shutout of the season and became the youngest goaltender in franchise history with a five-game winning streak. He also helped the Wild (12-7-4, 28 points) earn their fifth straight victory.

* Over his eight-game point streak, Wallstedt has earned shutouts against the reigning Presidents’ Trophy winners (WPG), current Pacific Division leader (ANA) and a team that fell outside the playoff line due to a tiebreaker in 2024-25 (CGY). Four of Wallstedt’s six wins this season have also come against teams currently in a playoff position, with the Minnesota goaltender having only allowed a combined eight goals through those contests.
* Wallstedt is the only goaltender to play at least eight games this season and have no regulation losses. He set the franchise benchmark for longest season-opening point streak, besting Niklas Backstrom (6-0-1 in 2008-09) and became the third rookie netminder League-wide with a run of that length in the past 30 years, following Mike Condon (8 GP in 2015-16) and Martin Jones (8 GP in 2013-14).
* Wallstedt and teammate Filip Gustavsson have kept the Wild from trailing in regulation for 480 straight minutes dating to Nov. 7. They became the first team with a run of that length since the Canucks from Jan. 8-24, 2024 (488:43).
MAKAR AND WEDGEWOOD HELP AVALANCHE EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO NINE GAMES
Cale Makar scored the winning goal and Scott Wedgewood made 22 saves to help the Avalanche shut out the Blackhawks and extend their winning streak to nine games – the longest active run in the League and the fourth longest in franchise history (tied).
* Makar boosted his 2025 totals to 29-51—80 (70 GP) and tied Larry Murphy, Brian Leetch and Phil Housley (all w/ 4) for the sixth-most 80-point calendar years by a defenseman (regular season & playoffs combined) behind Paul Coffey (12), Ray Bourque (9), Denis Potvin (8), Bobby Orr (7) and Al MacInnis (7).
* Wedgewood extended his winning streak to eight games, marking the longest active run by a goaltender this season. The last netminder to post a longer stretch was Edmonton’s Stuart Skinner nearly two years ago (12-0-0 from Dec. 22, 2023 – Jan. 27, 2024).

CELEBRINI SCORES GAME WINNER TO LIFT SHARKS OVER BRUINS
Macklin Celebrini (1-1—2) factored on two of San Jose’s three goals, including scoring the game winner, as the Sharks defeated the Bruins to earn their eighth win of November – tied for the second most among all teams behind only Colorado and Minnesota (both w/ 9). In the process, Celebrini passed Patrick Marleau (6) for the most game-winning goals by a teenager in Sharks history.
* Celebrini recorded his 25th multi-point outing and required the third-fewest games by a Sharks skater to reach the mark (93 GP), behind Joe Thornton (54 GP) and Owen Nolan (87 GP). The multi-point game brought his point total in 2025 up to 70 (27-43—70 in 65 GP) – the most in a calendar year by a teenager in nearly a decade.

THOMPSON HELPS BUFFALO BEST CONFERENCE-LEADING HURRICANES
The Sabres entered Sunday ranking last in the Eastern Conference, but Tage Thompson (1-0—1) and co. helped Buffalo (9-9-4, 22 points) claim victory over the Eastern Conference’s top seed, Carolina (14-6-2, 30 points). In doing so, the Sabres moved within three points of a playoff spot, five of No. 1 in the Atlantic Division and six of second in the conference.
* Thompson capped the victory with an empty netter and extended his goal streak to a career-best six games – tied with Jason Robertson (active) and Morgan Geekie for the longest this season.

PRIME MONDAY NIGHT HOCKEY HEADS TO HOLLYWOOD TO CLOSE MONDAY’S SLATE
An #NHLStats primer before tonight’s Senators–Kings game on Prime Monday Night Hockey to cap the seven-game slate.

* Ottawa will play the third contest of its season-high seven-game road trip (2-0-0), tied for the longest by any club this season, as it prepares for the return of captain Brady Tkachuk (who announced on his podcast, Wingmen, that he would be back by U.S. Thanksgiving).
* Anze Kopitar and the Kings have an 11-game point streak against the Senators that spans more than six years (8-0-3; OTT: 3-7-1) and ranks among the longest active head-to-head runs in the NHL. Los Angeles has had five point streaks of at least a dozen games against one club, with the last one ending more than a decade ago (a franchise record-tying 14-game stretch vs. EDM).
* Two of the top three picks from the 2020 NHL Draft will go head-to-head as Quinton Byfield (No. 2) and Tim Stützle (No. 3) meet for the sixth time in their careers (Byfield: 1-3—4, 4-0-1 record; Stützle: 1-4—5, 1-3-1 record). Click here for an NHL EDGE comparison between the two forwards.

NATIONAL GAMES ON THE RADAR THIS WEEK
Five #NHLStats and storylines you need to know about other national broadcasts this week:
1. Wild at Blackhawks on ESPN+ and Hulu (Wednesday): The first Foligno Face-Off in support of the V Foundation and Hockey Fights Cancer will be without an injured Nick Foligno as Marcus Foligno and the Wild look to continue their recent success against the Blackhawks. Minnesota has a point in 16 consecutive meetings with Chicago (15-0-1; CHI: 1-12-3), tied for the NHL’s longest active point streak by one franchise against another and the longest in the Wild’s 25-season history. Chicago’s last regulation win against Minnesota was Dec. 15, 2019 (thanks to a Patrick Kane hat trick and three-assist showing by Jonathan Toews). That same night, 14-year-old Connor Bedard had 1-1—2 with West Van Academy to boost his 2019-20 season totals to 25-27—52 in 23 games, part of a campaign in which he led the Canadian Sport School Hockey League in goals (43) and points (84) en route to securing league MVP honors.
2. Maple Leafs at Blue Jackets on Sportsnet (Wednesday): Meeting for the second time in a week, Adam Fantilli will try to once again help Columbus to victory after netting 2-1—3 including the overtime winner Thursday. The Ontario native, who played minor hockey in Toronto, has more goals and points against the Maple Leafs than any other franchise (6-2—8 in 8 GP) – including his first career hat trick (Jan. 22, 2025) and two of his eight multi-goal games.
3. Jets at Capitals on Sportsnet (Wednesday): The Capitals will honor Alex Ovechkin for a pair of recent achievements – 900 goals and 1,500 games played – before their game against the Jets, a franchise “The Great Eight” has had memorable moments against on his way to becoming the NHL’s all-time leading goal scorer. His 57 career goals against the Jets/Thrashers are his most against a single franchise, including many milestone tallies: Goal No. 50 (vs. ATL), Goal No. 600 (vs. Connor Hellebuyck) and Goal No. 802 (to pass Gordie Howe). Ovechkin has 149 career goals in November, five from tying Wayne Gretzky (154) for the most in League history during the month.
4. 2025 NHL Thanksgiving Showdown on TNT and HBO Max (Friday): A matinee between Original Six rivals that share a common thread will be part of a 15-game Black Friday slate as the Rangers visit the Bruins – with both clubs set to play outdoors in Florida in the new year. New York will put its perfect outdoor record on the line when they visit the Panthers for the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic (Jan. 2), while Boston will seek its fifth outdoor win – something only the Rangers have achieved – during the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series against the Lightning in Tampa (Feb. 1).
5. Hockey Night in Canada on Sportsnet (Saturday): All six clubs that will be part of Sportsnet’s Hockey Fights Cancer telecast have deep connections to the cause. Maple Leafs forward Dakota Joshua returned to the game last November after battling testicular cancer and is an HFC Champion; Erik Karlsson and the Penguins visited a cancer center during their trip to Sweden for Global Series and assistant coach Mike Stothers recently spoke about his own battle. The Canucks hosted Bryce Lambert, a five-year-old cancer survivor, and his family for their HFC night Nov. 8; the Kings will host their first of three HFC nights on Nov. 29. The Jets have been running a blog in conjunction with the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, sharing the stories of kids impacted by the disease, including Sunny, Noah, Josiah and Tristan; and Juuse Saros debuted a mask honoring those in the Predators organization who have recently battled cancer.
