Real McCoys dealt a bad hand

DUNDAS—Dundas Real McCoys were dealt a bad hand by the hockey gods tonight as the Brantford Blast swept the Allan Cup Hockey game 8-5 in the JL Grightmire Arena.

The game was the final match of the regular season for the McCoys, who will open their best-of-five semifinal series against the Blast next Friday (February 21st) in the Grightmire at 7:30 p.m.  Game two will be played in the Brantford Civic Centre next Sunday (February 23rd) at 7:30 p.m.

Dundas started strongly, but things started to fall apart in the second period.  A late two-goal rally in the third was not enough to turn the tide for the McCoys

Jarrett Konkle led the Brantford attack with a pair of goals, while Cam Fergus, Chris Lawrence, Jordan Owens, and Nathan Pageau added a goal and an assist each.  Sean Blanchard and Justin Dacosta completed the goal scoring with a goal each.  Rob Hisey and Scott Hotham assisted on two goals each.

For Dundas, league-scoring leader Brad Bonello scored twice and set up a third goal. Chase Trull scored twice for the McCoys with Mark Bennett adding a single goal.
