The Everblades peppered Jakaitis with 11 shots in the second frame in search of a response, but the defense stood tall and forward Patrick Gaul rewarded their efforts with his second goal of the postseason at 16:56 with help from forward Tim Spencer and defenseman Marcus Perrier.
Rowe made it 3-0 early in the third period with his fifth goal of the playoffs from forward Derek DeBlois at the 6:00 mark, but the Everblades would retaliated just over a minute later as forward Matt Marquardt’s shot popped over Jakaitis and across the goal line at 7:09. On the man advantage, Everblades defenseman Mike Little pulled the contest within one ripping a one-time shot between the legs of Jakaitis from the left-wing point at 12:58. Devin sealed the victory for the Stingrays late in the frame burying his league-leading eighth goal of the playoffs from forward Rob Bellamy at 14:58.
The Stingrays finished the game 1-for-2 on the power play while the Everblades went 1-for-3.
