Rangers take 5th straight from Philadelphia, 5-2

PHILADELPHIA, Pa – Despite the success the New York Rangers have had in the standings their power play unit has been less than stellar.   In fact, the man-advantage has been something of a mystery to the club.   On Saturday afternoon, that all seemed but a memory as New York’s first three goals were scored on the power play and the team went three for six with the extra skater.

Ranger captain, Ryan Callahan, chipped in his first hat trick of the season (second of his career) in the win and backed up Henrik Lundqvist’s performance in net.   Lundqvist was sensational in the second period when he stopped 17 of 18 Flyer shots on goal.

Artem Anisimov and Marian Gaborik added goals for the Rangers.   Gaborik had a four-point game and Brad Richards chipped in with three assists.
