Rangers survive Flyers’ rally in 4-2 win

PHILADELPHIA – The New York Rangers paid a visit to Philadelphia Thursday night in preseason action and left town with a 4-2 win over the Flyers.

Alexandar Georgiev made 26 saves to get the win for New York.

The Rangers built a 3-0 lead befroe the Flyers rallied for two goals in the third period to make it interesting.

After a scoreless opening frame, the Rangers struck for three goals from Vinni Lettieri, Brett Howden and Vladislav Namestnikov .

Philadelphia’s goals came from Ivan Provorov and James van Riemsdyk.

Kevin Hayes put an end to the rally with empty net goal to complete the scoring.

Carter Hart made 14 saves in taking the loss for the Flyers.
