SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 3, 2016) – The San Antonio Rampage (9-10-1-0) defeated the San Jose Barracuda (7-5-0-3) 4-3 after a seven-round shootout during the Silver and Black’s annual Teddy Bear Toss Game at the AT&T Center. 
Defenseman Cody Goloubef made his Rampage debut, recording one assist in the second period. Defenseman Anton Lindholm recorded his first professional point in North America with an assist on the game-tying goal with 85 seconds remaining. Forward Troy Bourke landed the go-ahead shootout goal in the seventh round, as Spencer Martin made the game-winning save to secure San Antonio’s ninth victory. Martin finished game with 41 saves and stopped six-of-seven shootout attempts, earning him the Third Star of the Game.
San Jose opening the scoring at the 8:11 mark when John McCarthy finished a loose puck in front of the net, as Ryan Carpenter and Rourke Chartier registered assists on the play. Just over two minutes later, the San Antonio teddy bears flew onto the ice when forward Julien Nantel scored a back-door goal off a pass from Gabriel Bourque at the 10:27 mark. The Rampage tacked on a second goal at 18:15 as Bourque buried a drop-pass from A.J. Greer and Goloubef.
Despite a scoreless second period, the scoring resumed late in the third period when San Jose rattled off back-to-back goals at 12:04 and 17:35. Timo Meier found the back of the net twice, as Barclay Goodrow, Mirco Mueller, Kevin Lebanc, and Daniel O’Regan collected assists. Down 3-2 with 85 seconds remaining, forward Joe Whitney went upstairs on San Jose’s Mantas Armalis, sending the contest into extra time.
After a scoreless five-minute overtime period, the Rampage secured the victory in the seventh round of the shootout.
