SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The San Antonio Rampage (35-20-5-1) topped the Lake Erie Monsters (27-25-5-3) 5-2 in front of 7,862 fans and dogs at the AT&T Center on Pucks & Paws Night Saturday. Four different players recorded multi-point games, led by Dany Heatley’s two goals.
Wade Megan scored a shorthanded goal midway through the first period to get the Rampage on the board. Megan got ahead of the defense and wristed the puck through the five hole of Calvin Pickard for the tally. 
Heatley converted off a pass from Connor Brickley to put the Rampage up 2-0 late in the frame, and Blake Parlett scored a wraparound goal on the power play to give San Antonio a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
Garrett Wilson extended San Antonio’s lead to four when his shot off the faceoff beat Pickard, but the Monsters answered with a goal from Andrew Agozzino just 44 seconds later to make it 4-1 at the end of the second frame.
Heatley buried an empty-netter at 14:50 of the final period, and Michael Schumacher punched in a rebound to account for the final 5-2 score.
San Antonio held the Monsters scoreless on eight power-play opportunities while scoring one power-play goal on five chances with the man advantage. Michael Houser made 21 saves on 23 shots.
KEY STAT
Heatley’s first-period goal marked his 800th professional point, 791 of which have come in his 869 NHL games.
The Rampage held the Monsters to just one shot on goal in the first period, which sets a new franchise record for fewest shots against in a period.
