ROCKFORD, Ill. – David Warsofsky scored twice, Spencer Martin stopped all 39 pucks he faced and the San Antonio Rampage romped to a 6-0 win over the Rockford IceHogs at the BMO Harris Bank Center Friday night.
The loss marks Rockford’s fourth consecutive defeat, and the first time the Hogs have been shut out this season.
Warsofsky’s initial tally came halfway through the first frame and as one of four power-play goals from San Antonio. Andrew Agozzino followed three minutes later with a strike of his own to double the Rampage’s lead, and Chris Butler added a third with 1:03 remaining in the stanza.
After Warsofsky notched his second tally of the game nine minutes into period two, Mason Geertsen made it five for the visitors three minutes later. Reid Petryk potted his team’s sixth goal less than a minute into the final period.
The Rampage appeared to add a seventh goal to the scoresheet, but it was waved off due to a penalty.
Martin made 39 saves in his first shutout of the season. Rockford’s J.F. Berube stopped 21 of 26 shots before being replaced by Jeff Glass, who turned aside six of seven pucks.
