Julius Honka got his first goal of the season against the Rampage to kick off the scoring, as the puck bounced ahead of the defense and Honka was there to pick it up and flip it past Ellis less than two minutes into the game.

The Stars extended their lead to 2-0 on the power play just past the midway point of the second stanza. Derek Meech’s initial shot was stopped by Ellis, but the rebound bounced right to the stick of Travis Morin, who was there to wrist it in.

San Antonio got on the board with less than 90 seconds left in the middle frame, as Blacker came off the bench with the Silver and Black on the power play and fired a shot past Rynnas to make it 2-1.

Midway through the third, Connor Brickley picked up a rebound and buried it past Rynnas to knot the game at two. San Antonio outshot the Stars 25-6 in the third period, but didn’t find the back of the net again, sending the game to overtime.

Grimaldi netted his third game-winner at the 5:03 mark of the extra frame to give the Rampage their fourth overtime win of the season.

Dan Ellis finished with 26 saves on 28 shots, and San Antonio was 1-for-3 on the power play.
