BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A.J. Greer’s overtime goal lifted the San Antonio Rampage (11-5-1-0) 3-2 over the Bakersfield Condors (5-8-2-0) on Tuesday night at Rabobank Arena.
The Condors got out to an early lead 3:58 into the opening frame when Caleb Jones hit a slap shot from the blue line past the Rampage goaltender Spencer Martin. Jordan Schmaltz tied the game for the Silver and Black when he received a backdoor pass from Tyson Jost and sent the puck into the back of the net 8:03 into the first period.
After a scoreless middle frame, Ryan Hamilton broke the tie when he finished a pass from Zach O’Brien 8:15 into the third stanza, giving the Condors a one-goal advantage. Tage Thompson evened the game for San Antonio 94 seconds later when he fired a shot past Condors netminder Eddie Pasquale. The rest of the period went scoreless as the contest was forced into overtime. Greer landed the game winner for the Silver and Black after collecting his own rebound 2:28 into overtime and lifting the puck past the pad of Pasquale.
