SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Rampage (33-35-8-0) closed out the 2015-16 season with a 5-2 loss to the Manitoba Moose (26-40-4-5) in front of 11,376 at the AT&T Center on Friday night. Ben Street and Sam Henley each tallied goals for the Rampage, who took an early 2-0 lead before Manitoba rattled off five unanswered goals to secure the win.
Ben Street lit the lamp first for San Antonio, skating in on a break and firing a backhand shot past Connor Hellebuyck at 18:04, and the Rampage took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
Sam Henley extended the Silver and Black’s lead to two early in the middle session, deflecting a Duncan Siemens blast to make it 2-0. From there, it was all Manitoba, beginning with Scott Kosmachuk’s wrister from the right circle at 15:04 of the period. The Moose tallied two more before the end of the frame, one off the stick of Jansen Harkins and the other from Jimmy Lodge on the power play, which marked his first AHL tallies for both players, to make it 3-2 Moose heading into the second break.
Lodge tallied two more goals in the third period to complete the hat trick and seal a 5-2 win for Manitoba.
The Moose outshot San Antonio 34-20 and scored two goals on seven power-play opportunities while the Rampage finished scoreless on two chances with the man advantage.
