Railers at Admirals game postponed after one period, play resumes Sunday with no fans in arena

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk Admirals scored twice in the opening period of Saturday night’s home game with the Worcester Railers to take a 2-0 lead into what would become an extended intermission.

According to the Admirals’ Twitter feed, their season-high crowd was sent home after both zambonis suffered mechanical issues and the game was postponed.

The game was rescheduled for Sunday afternoon, but the team says due to the short turnaround to schedule arena staff, the game will be closed to the public.

Fans with tickets to Saturday night’s game will be able to exchange their tickets for any Norfolk Admirals game remaining this season. The team said they will relay information on how to exchange tickets once they are able to formulate a plan with the Scope Box Office.
