Radulov leads Stars past Avs

In Dallas, the Stars’ Alexander Radulov made up for being late to practice earlier in the week.

On Thursday, he netted a hat trick in a 4-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

“It’s always nice to bounce back and have a game like that,” Radulov said. “You just have to do the little things. To score a goal is always nice, but the most important thing is winning and getting a shutout for [Ben Bishop].

“We’re all human. I just overslept and came a little bit late. A rule’s a rule for everybody, so I think it’s in the past. I’ll deal with it.”

Bishop made 31 saves for the shutout.

“We just couldn’t get any secondary chances in there,” Avs head coach Jared Bednar said. “They moved pucks out in front of the net pretty well. They did a nice job in there, so you have to give them credit.

“It was a playoff game for us. We came up short. So now we’re going to be chasing it a little bit.”

Jamie Benn also scored for the Stars.

“It’s two times now guys have missed games and they get a little bit of rest and they come back with hat tricks (Benn against the St. Louis Blues on March 2),” Montgomery said. “Maybe there’s something to a little bit of rest.”

Semyon Varlamov made 26 saves in the loss.

“They’re playing fast. Their big guys had a night. I thought Benn did a nice job shutting [Nathan MacKinnon] down,” Bednar said.
