Quick wins in return, Kings down Ducks, 4-1

Out since game on of the campaign, Jonathan Quick made 32 saves in a 4-1 Los Angles win over the Anaheim Ducks Saturday.

“No issues at all,” he said. “It was more of not playing a game in four and a half months, whatever it was. You just try to make the saves, get a routine going and get a rhythm

out there and try to help the team win.”

Tyler Toffoli struck twice for the Kings in the win as they continue to chase down a wild card spot in the west.

They trail the Nashville Predators by five points.

“Obviously, it’s exciting having [Quick] back,” Toffoli said. “He’s one of the best, if not the best goalie in the League. He stood on his head and made some big saves when we needed them.”

Andrew Cogliano was the lone scorer for the Ducks.

“We made too many mistakes,” Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle said. “We made individual mistakes. We gave the Kings the puck and we can’t make those kinds of mistakes in the areas that we made mistakes and not expect teams to take advantage of that.”

Jeff Carter and Dustin Brown also scored for the Kings who struck four times in the third period.

Jonathan Bernier made 29 saves in the loss.

Anaheim’s newly acquired Patrick Eaves  played more than 16 minutes in his first action as a Duck.

“I think I got my legs under me halfway through the first period. I am really excited to be here and be a part of this group. It has only been one game and I feel like I have been a part of it. The guys have been great and I have played against a lot of these guys for a while, so it’s finally nice to join them,” Eaves said after the game.
