QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — In a game where the Remparts were opportunistic, Quebec got the best over the Halifax Mooseheads, 6-1. Adam Erne with five point’s one goal and four assists took charge of home team offence. Nikolas Brouillard also brought great contribution with one goal two assists.
After scoreless first period where Quebec got the advantage in first portion of the period Halifax broke the ice 13 seconds into the middle frame.
Maxime Fortier redirected the pass from Timo Meier beating Quebec goaltender Zachary Fucale between his pads.
Quebec replied with next two goals by Jerome Verrier and Adam Erne both goals were scored as Quebec played with a man advantage, in fact Quebec ended scoring four of their six goals with a man advantage and two of them were with the team playing five-on-three.
“We have had things to say between us this week and we have been told them, we practice hard. We finally learned that we have to work hard it will pay off in the game.” The right winger who scored Quebec first goal in the game Jerome Verrier.

“Both goaltenders did good job, Zach made great saves same with Brassard on the other side. The goaltending change maybe shake a little bit but we took advantage of our chances that is what we missed since couple games.” Said the one who came back in the lineup against Halifax.
Verrier’s goal was a perfect tic-tac-toe play with Adam Erne and Anthony Duclair. In second period. Quebec played with two men advantage for 1:20. Injured in trying to make a save Halifax starting netminder and former Quebec goalie Eric Brassard had to leave the game replaced by Kevin Resop. Brassard left the game giving up only one goal on twenty shots.
Beneficiary of a second five-on-three couple minutes after the first one Quebec thought they had scored a second five-on-three power play goal when Guillaume Gauthier only had to push the puck in an empty net following first shot taken by Erne.
But an offside at the blueline made the referee waving in off the goal scored by Gauthier. But Quebec finally scored their second goal in the game playing five-on-four leading to Erne goal taking his own rebound to beat Halifax netminder.

Massimo Carozza who centered the first line scored Quebec third goal as his shot beat Mooseheads netminder on his left side at 6:50 in third period.
Thinking he had scored Quebec second goal in the game after he saw referee waving his goal off due to an offside a the blueline Guillaume Gauthier scored Quebec fourth goals a third one with the help of the power play with 12:24 to go in the third.
Found guilty for a seventh time in the game with Quebec being three-in-six with a man advantages Quebec scored a fifth goal, their fourth in seventh power play opportunity as Quebec defenseman Nikolas Brouillard let a shot go beating Resop with 11:33 remaining. Taking his own rebound Marc-Olivier Roy scored Quebec sixth goal giving no chance to Halifax netminder who had been left alone with 6:20 to go in the third period.
Erne was pleased with his team’s performance.
“I think we really needed that one,” answered left winger Erne. “We need to start something we have had really good meeting as a team this morning, we came up with few things. We want to be notice as we need to do things every day and I think we really did tonight.”

“We really played better it is very nice to see the offense click tonight. Brassard has been really good, we have had flash back of other goaltenders performances against us lately like Dubeau and MacDonald in last two games here. Brassard has been really solid.” Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher said after the game.
“We did not let it go we worked really hard the special units went really well it is nice to win.” Concluded Remparts head coach Boucher.
Quebec will return in action on Saturday afternoon visiting Shawinigan in the Winter Classic at St-Hite
