Quebec wins in OT Kiselev second goal gives Quebec the win

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — In an exciting game in Blainville-Boisbriand, Quebec came out as the winner by the score of 5-4. Back from National team training camp Dmitry Buynitskiy and Philip Kurashev played key roles in their team’s win. Buynitskiy with one goal, two assists, Kurashev with two goals (second one game winning goal) and new acquisition Mathieu Ayotte one goal, two assists, led visiting team offense.

Quebec opened the scoring in Boisbriand on their second power play opportunity. The shot from blue line from defenseman Ross McDougall being redirected by Matthew Boucher beating Armada goaltender Samuel Montembeault on his right side at 11:19. Alexandre Alain was in the penalty box for Blainville-Boisbriand.

Acquired in the afternoon by Quebec Remparts head coach and general manager Philippe Boucher from Victoriaville Tigres Mathieu Ayotte got his first assist with his new team.

Quebec added to their lead with 4:13 remaining to the first period. Beating Armada defenseman Daven Gastonguay, Jonathan Bourcier went in two-on-one breakaway with Dimitry Buynitskiy scoring his fifth of the season at 15:47. Ayotte got his second assists with his new team.

Blainville-Boisbriand reduced Quebec lead with their first goal of the game only 18 seconds after Quebec doubled their lead. Getting back the puck from right corner, Guillaume Beaudoin tried to come back in front of Quebec goalie, his shot was redirected by Quebec veteran defenseman Raphael Maheux before beating Evgeny Kiselev.

Quebec came back to regain their two-goal lead on perfect tic-tac-toe play between Philipp Kurashev, Matthew Boucher and Alexandre Garneau leaving no chance to Samuel Montembeault at 18:21.

Blainville-Boisbriand continued to play very well in second periods scoring twice bringing back both teams to square one. Confusion between Quebec netminder and his veteran defenseman Raphael Maheux led to Armada second goal. Remi Angleheart scored his second goal in the regular season on his team first shot of the middle frame at 2:04.

A great shot by Charlie Roy led to Blainville-Boisbriand third goals in the game bringing back both teams to square one at 10:04. Anthony Poulin and Michael Kemp got the assist.  

Quebec opened the third period regaining the lead for third time in the game. Already registering two assists since his acquisition from Victoriaville in Matinee in return of sixth round selection in 2019, Mathieu Ayotte scored Quebec fourth goals his first with his new team. Ayotte long wrist went through skates beating Armada netminder at 4:12.

Blainville Boisbriand came back tying the game for fourth time as Miguel Picard redirect a shot from Charlie Roy beating Quebec goalie at 9:05 forcing both teams to play overtime period.

Quebec finally got the last word in overtime playing three-on-three hockey. Philipp Kurashev went between two Armada defensemen T.J.Melancon and Alexandre Alain going on breakaway before beating Montembeault between his pads with a backhanded shot for Quebec fifth goal in the game at 1:11 of fourth periods.

Quebec will end 2016-17 year in front of their fans playing their next two games at home. On Friday night Quebec will host Drummondville and on Saturday afternoon Quebec will face Gatineau.
